(1) Why do American feminists not make more of a clamor about the plight of women in predominantly Muslim countries ?
(2) Do Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan really matter in the scheme of things ?
(3) Why do many Americans need to be told what to do by gurus, sages, savants, New Age know-it-alls and Dr. Phil ?
(4) Do you know what Whahabism is ? (Better find out.)
(5) Where did political correctness begin ?
These are just a few questions that popped into my mind this morning. Of course there are many more, but I shall save them for later. I know that you kind readers are breathless with anticipation.

Good questions from a morning mind. I generally only manage to come up with, "Do I have any milk?" or "Tea or coffee?"

I have an idea about the first:
Feminist silence on Islam is related to "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" syndrome. That is, they hate America and capitalism more than anything, and so will not criticise those who share this jaundiced view even if they contradict themselves in the process.

RE #1 Matt seems to be on track, though the American feminists are one of the facets of "Western Decadence" that is abhorent to the Philistines and other Mohammedans.
2. From current perspective, only as distractive eye candy.
3. Validation or an ability to blame soemone else for their predicaments.
4. Yes.
5. Too long ago and unfortunately I don't know if that cancer is curable.
