Mayor Joe Riley Has No Clue

Last night the mayor of the city of Charleston, South Carolina - Joe Riley - made one of the most ignorant statements that I have ever heard while addressing the Westside Neighborhood Association . He said, "  The fire (at the Sofa Super Store) was beyond the capacity of any fire department in America. " First of all this in not true and secondly it shows Mayor's Riley's ignorance in the matter. As an old fireman, I can say that fires like the SSS fire have been fought successfully by fire departments across the country  for many years. The CFD, due to poor leadership and deficient training, lost 9 good brothers . The fire was beyond the capacity of the Chief and certain other command staff to handle and a tragedy was the result. If you care about the city of Charleston and its direction vote on November 6 and vote for any candidate but Joe Riley!!

Paul, I'm prone, albeit a bit generous to adopt the Caine Muntiny perspective that either he's incompetent OR he wilfully and with full knowlege to the contrary. From personal observations of his cupidity and duplicity, I find it difficult to believe incompetence, lest he's someone's puppet.
