Question of the Day

(Q)  Has there been a person in your lifetime who has been like a "symbolic lighthouse" for you in perilous or difficult times? If so please share it with us.

Homage To Orgasm (Poem)

Moving as one

In frenzied ecstasy you call my name

As I enter your seductive depth.

Around us

The silence of night,

Bathed in deep shadows,

Is interrupted by the sensual sound of passionate thrusts

Urgently echoing

And  touching your soul -

Cherubs smile.

floating in a pond -

Haiku # 122907 (Poem)

Train # 97, the Silver Meteor,
Headin' South
Down that long, lonely track to Dixie.

The Feline School of Philosophy

Philosophers would do well to learn from wise felines. Felines rarely get in a hurry and they consider what is of practical importance to themselves. They practice their own form of feline Zen. They eat when they are hungry and sleep when they need rest. They rarely get caught up in futile pursuits and they are not loud vexations to the spirit. What Paris Hilton is doing means nothing to them and forget those dumb "reality" programs on television that numb the mind yet are viewed by millions. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt can attempt to save the world and cats pay them no heed. Humans, lamentably, seem to revel in folly. We criticize what goes on in the world and then either pursue such folly ourselves or stand by and do little or nothing to change it. We become what we detest or abhor. Human folly ad nauseum.

Football

The Eagles whupped the Cowboys
Down in Big D..
Tony Joe Romo
Was thinking about his squeeze, not the game,

And lo
and behold
The Iggs knocked him to his knees.
The Cowboys cried and ranted and raved-
Jerry Jones wasn't amused-
And Jessica Simpson went on her merry way.

Haiku # 122507 (Poem)

the love
within that we never share
will wither and die.

Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Said It

" When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is nonessential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord. "  -  Cardinal Joseph Bernardin in " The Gift of Peace " .  Cardinal Bernardin was a great soul and (like me) a native of South Carolina. His book, The Gift of Peace is one of the best ones I have ever read on peace and love. It has been called " a book for people of all religions "
and that is an apt description.
Reading it will touch your soul.
