In New York City

There is currently a backlash against bottled water in some quarters. It stems in part from environmental concerns. Now some eateries in New York City are offering purified tap water at $5.00 to $6.00 per glass. The high cost, in part, is due to the fact that these establishments have to purchase filtration equipment. Read all about it at Gothamist under the headline "Price of Water Skyrockets". Would you ever have forseen this occurence ? I admit that I would not have had that foresight.

On the heels of oxygen bars the novelty of offering "filtered water" is much like the emperor's new clothes. IMHO, that price range is exhorbitant, but in line with the stereotype of NYC's over pricing to the point of gouging.

Maybe we can just get back to drinking water from a garden hose, like we did when we were kids.
