i cannot begin to fathom

what the new year might bring

our way,

but then again

time is like a stream that has all kinds of currents,

some dangerous and some not,

depending on its moods.

do the fish, we in this case ,

 do better by going with the flow

or fighting it ?

(We seem to prefer to fight)

wish Buddha could answer that one

or Jesus if he has a free moment.

comes to mind.

But could we ?

what ?

A Urgent Request

A fireman in Friendship, New York is in very low spirits after having been injured in a wall collapse at a fire. Could some of you please send him a get well card  ? I ask this as an old beat up fireman myself. The Brother needs some encouragement in his time of pain. Thank you all.

If you want peace

And practice goodwill towards all

Then please remember

That it may demand a steep price.

Recall Jesus, Gandhi and Martin Luther King

All of whom  championed this noble and sacred cause -

And what befell them, one and all .

To preach love is dangerous

In this perilous world

Some view it as if it is the most mortal of sins -

Religious fanatics shout their hate 

And endeavor to tell us what to do and when. 

If you want peace 

Then please remember

That it may demand a steep price.
