Border states know about it but the information isn't getting out across the country. Nogales, south of Tucson is a good example. Now our state department recommends not traveling there or if you do going with caution. This is where many Arizonans just walk across the border and I've done it many times but as much as 8 years ago, it began to change and now I wouldn't go there. What people don't realize is the border is not just bringing across workers but drugs and a slave trade has grown up with a class of very bad types running it all. Then within the country is the kidnapping profession which means even Americans could be kidnapped for ransom. Mexico appears unable to stop it or is part of it-- take your pick; but those who think we can ignore that border are not paying attention.

I gree with you Rain. This problem seems to be getting worse daily.

Mexico is very much a country of the haves and the have nots. It kind of reminds me of Russia under the Csars. The rich class have their fancy estates with armed guards and the working classes struggle to get by with dirt floors. The drug wars are getting worse and worse and the rich people go on with their lives just like everything is fine. One day revolution may come and it will be nasty and ugly and will at least consume the border states. But as long as Consuela will clean my house for $30 who cares right?
