A few days ago, I witnessed the following exchange between a mother and a child in a checkout line at a local super market. The lady, with several children in tow, looked more than a bit harried. The cashier said, "That will be $312.23 Maam." at which point her oldest child (who appeared to be 10-12 years old, said in a serious tone of voice, "Mom, Dad said don't go over three hundred dollars on the grocery bill !" Without missing a beat Mom replied, "Well, you tell your father to do the shopping instead of living on the golf course !" It got quiet for a moment in the adjacent aisles and the last that I saw of them the herd was heading for the door with the mother in tow.

Sounds like a future case for a divorce lawyer. I can't imagine spending over $300 at the grocery store. I never got close to that even when I was buying for a pack of hungry kids.
