Of Train Travel and The American Mood

You can learn a lot on a twelve hour train rige. I learned that some people on that Amtrak train were not happy with the nation's leadership and the handling of the economy. A Professor of History at Temple University, and an admitted Liberal, gave President Obama less than favorable marks with regard to hie leadership. She also stated that most of her students care only about "the grade", as she called it and less about real learning. She said that plagiarism and cheating are rife as well, 

A grandmother lamented the plight of her hard working family and expressed disdain for people who feel entitled to have their needs met for them by Uncle Sam. A government bureaucrat from Washington, D.C. said that the only jobs that were really growing were in the federal bureaucracy. When pressed by me, she could not tell me where there was a lot of job growth outside of the federal dovernment. The truth is she didn't seem to be concerned about it at all.

Cold Weather Descends

For us in South Carolina the cold weather is hitting today. This morning it is in the 40's and tonight it will be 32. Do you like the cold?

Tigers Disappoint

I love the Clemson Tigers but they really let us Tiger fans down by not showing up to play South Carolina. Terrible game from the tigers!!

Tigers and Chickens

The big game today for me is Clemson versus Carolina. I'm a huge Clemson fan and we need to win this game. Though we've always dominated the chickens we have lost two straight. That has to change today! Go Tigers!
